Arangetram

The word arangetram literally means ascending the stage on completion of a formal training. Performing an arangetram refers to the graduation ceremony wherein the Guru presents his or her pupil to the public and hence it marks as an important milestone in a student's career. It is a test on a dancer's stamina, expertise and determination. The dancer portrays a full repertoire or Margam detailing the nuances of dance, intricate footwork all in synchronization with live music.
